Dining in Capri, Italy

When in Capri like most of Italy, Italians enjoy full lunches and late night dinners with several courses...pasta, meat/fish, salad, dessert and of course the wine.  First, enjoy the views and then mangia...

Capri dining like the views is spectacular.  The chefs create many simple fresh dishes using the locally grown ingredients.  Lemons, olives, and vegetables are locally grown and the  seafood is caught nearby.  At the end of this post you'll see the most fabulous "coffee" drink I've ever tasted...

             Hotel Quivisiana's Rendezvous

There are a wide range of cafe's and restaurants

You can choose from a variety of Boutique Hotel (Hotel Quisianarestaurants or outdoor bistros.

We chose to eat along the trendy Via Camerelle.  The Edode (left photos) was a  lovely restaurant with white linens and good wines.  You could smell the freshly baked cakes from the kitchen.  The Faraglioni restaurant (right photos/named for the famous rock formation)  served their own grown vegetables such as spinach that was very green, large and rich in texture.  These two were much more expensive than most of the restaurants we chose in other cities but worth the try.

This is the lovely Donna Rachele that sits in a small walkway near the main square.  The nice owner, above serving wine, took great pride in providing an excellent meal and fine wine.  This was a medium priced restaurant that had a nice terrace overlooking the narrow street.

This is the best cold "coffee drink" I've ever had...Crema Coffee, a cold whipped delicious drink that you had to use  a spoon to eat.  It came from the machine at left.  Presentation and taste was worth the 6 euros each...
