French Inspired Chateau du Sureau

I was sorry to see that Chateau du Sureau and The Elderberry House (restaurant) are both up for sale.  I'm featuring it because it's nearby and has  a long standing tradition for being a 5 Star hotel-restaurant rating.  Nestled at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada (Oakhurst), at the gateway to Yosemite National Park lies The Estate by the Elderberries, which is comprised of: The Elderberry House, Chateau du Sureau, Villa du Sureau, and Spa du Sureau...a destination of choice for discriminating patrons.  Continue...





The Elderberry House: The restaurant is finished in dark hues of red with hand stenciled beam cathedral ceilings, and large fireplace, offers a breathtaking setting for an n elegant meal.

Chateau du Sureau: Chateau du Sureau is an approximately 9,000 SF, 10 room home with a warm country feel. Completed in 1991, the home is introduced by a grand staircase with 300 year old tiles and antique filled rooms. Hand hewn doors, canopy beds, fireplaces, tapestries and large soaking tubs. Guests can roam the tree lined grounds and enjoy the pond. Villa du Sureau There is also a separate 2 bedroom, Parisian style manor house decorated with authentic pieces from France at the turn of the century.

Anjelica Huston's Three Rivers Ranch

Anjelica Huston is a beautiful woman who has a  simple yet  colorful, expressive ranch house  in Three Rivers, CA .  I'm featuring it because it's very near my home town.   She's one of my favorite actresses with so many credits to her name.  Most are not familiar with  "Family Pictures",  a two-part TV adaptation of the Sue Miller novel of the same name. Anjelica and Sam Neill are a 1950s married couple with six children, one of whom, Randall, is autistic . The parents' initial decision not to institutionalize the boy results in a terrific strain on the rest of the family.                         She also played an Italian in "Prizzi's Honor" directed by her father.     Vogue Italia  recognized Angelica's 60th birthday recently by displaying many of the above photos.  She is pictured with Jack Nicholson, her longtime friend.  At her ranch house at left.   A look at her Ranch House. ..continue...
