21st Pumpkin Festival in Venzone Published: Oct 20th, 2011 Venzone is located at the Northeastern area of Italy near Trieste Words by Sharon Rogers0-- Life in Italy Venzone is the only medieval walled city in Friuli Venezia Giulia and so it stands to reason that during the annual pumpkin festival the whole town takes the opportunity to don period dress creating a re-enactment of life in medieval times. Wallpaper cutouts such as this Venice scene are great for a specific area instead of using photos. The famous Cypress tree grouping in Tuscany Tuscany (see map at end of post) Lucca photo from the Tower I used to fly into Milan and access Italy via the train, however, it's so much easier today to fly into Pisa and take the bus to Lucca (40 mins.) or the train to other destinations.  We walked everywhere in Lucca inside the walled town.  A bike is a great way to get around the entire 3 mile radius.  Don't even think about driving a car in this town--there is limited car entry and so many motorbikes and bicyclists.   Continue...
